June is Men’s Health Month

Your food nutrition choices help fight disease and help stay fueled. Here are some tips for men on how to make good nutritious choices.

  • Include a variety of foods, fruits, and vegetables, fish, and other lean protein foods.

  • To reduce disease risk, men should eat whole grains such as whole grain bread, pasta, cereal, brown rice, and oats. These foods along with beans, lentils, fruits, and vegetables, provide fiber and may help manage hunger and fullness.

  • Protein foods can come from other sources than meat such as plant based proteins, like beans, peas, and soy (tofu, edamame).
